I'm a fan of analogies; the branch and root view is excellent. Roots are hard to perceive as they are intangibles.
I had a big smile on my face when you said one can buy great companies when a branch breaks. I always say the best investment is buying a great company at a great price: Warren Buffett buying Coca-Cola after New Coke. This was a broken branch. This distribution network, the leadership quality and more were still the same.
Charlie saw the roots of BYD and it became one of Berkshire's best investments.
Haha I'm now contemplating editing my logo to add more roots to the tree 😂
